I have been thinking about this a lot lately. There are people who seem to lead a charmed life. Then, there are those of us who feel a little like Cinderella before the ball. We grind it out every day. We do the right thing. We carry ourselves with grace. Yet, somehow when the coach arrives we are left home with nothing to wear and lots of chores to do.
Manifesting what we want may sound a little like hocus pocus (or bibbidi bobbidi boo) but it truly is about taking the first step in getting the life you want. I started to work some “magic” for myself recently and felt compelled to share. Now, I am calling this magic but really its not. Here are the basics so you can start to open yourself up to getting what you want in life. Believe me, things will start to happen – QUICKLY!
1 – Get yourself a journal and every day when you open your eyes write down in your book exactly what you are yearning for. Shoot for the stars and be really specific if there is something you truly want. Don’t ask for small things, ask for the really good stuff. No one wants the universe to send them second rate goods.
2 – Ask the universe for signs when you are at a crossroads. I do this in my journal first thing in the morning as well. I was recently presented with a work opportunity that I was uncertain about. I struggled with it all weekend and then Sunday morning I asked for a sign. Before bed on Sunday night I had one in NEON! Question answered beyond a shadow of a doubt.
3 – You may be sent opportunities that are not quite right and it’s ok to pass on them. Have faith that more is coming and the right one may be along next. Expect abundance and you will get it.
4 – Meditate every morning and evening. Sit and calm yourself so that you are ready for anything. You want to be able to face challenges sent your way – because they are most likely opportunities. If you get the offer of the dream job you want to be on top of your game, not full of self doubt.
5 – None of the above means you sit at home waiting for a gift from the universe. Ask for what you want, because in life we get what we ask for. That said, the other part of the equation is getting out there with this new attitude of abundance and confidence. I can ask for love all I like but if I never go anywhere or try to meet anyone the universe will have a really hard time sending me the perfect match!
6 – Practice gratitude daily. Be truly grateful for all you have received from the universe each day. An attitude of lack or desperation never gets us what we want.
The thing to remember is while there is no real “magic wand” to get us what we want by being open, receptive, asking for what we need and being proactive we can live the life of our dreams. Let me leave you with this quote from Marrianne Williamson’s, A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of “A Course in Miracles”
“We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?”
